The Noki Chair from Industry West draws inspiration from both architectural and natural elements of Japan. The distinctive backrest, with its curved lip, mirrors the “noki,” or eaves, found on traditional rural Japanese homes. Designer Yokozeki envisioned the upholstery on the seat and back as soft snow resting on a bench or the eaves of his hometown in Gifu prefecture. This blend of personal memories and meticulous attention to proportions results in a chair that appears minimal but captivates with its elegant balance and thoughtful design.
